.VP is Verilog Encrypted Source Code File
Encrypted file originally written in Verilog, a hardware description language (HDL) used to specify electronic system designs; stores the encrypted version of a Verilog source code file, which uses the .V extension; used for protecting intellectual property stored in plain text source code files.
VP files allow developers to deliver electronic systems models in an encrypted form. The files are encrypted with a public key so that they can only be decrypted with the associated private key. Once decrypted, they can be read as normal Verilog files.
