What are .ADF files and how to open them?
Can't open .ADF file? Are you wondering what it contains? On our site we will explain to you what this file is, what it is used for and what software opens the .ADF file. What is a .ADF file extension?
.ADF file extension is created by The Sage Group. .ADF has been classified as Database Files. The format of .ADF file is Binary.
.ADF is ACT! Data File
An ADF file is a database file created by ACT!, a customer relationship management (CRM) application. It contains customer contact data such as names, email addresses, business information, and the relationship history. ADF files are used for customer relations information in a structured format.
ADF files are saved with an .ALF lookup file, which contains metadata required to navigate, backup, and restore the ACT! database. ADF files may also be archived within ACT! database backups, which use the .BAK extension. ADF files use Microsoft SQL Server formatting and are similar to .MDF files.
NOTE: Sage ACT! became Swiftpage Act! in 2013.

File Type 2 ESRI ArcInfo Binary Grid Format
Internal raster data format used by ESRI products such as ArcGIS, ArcView, and ArcInfo Workstation; stores spatial data as a binary grid (rows and columns of cells) and is one of several ADF files that together comprise the total grid; used to represent geographical or other spatial objects such as maps and map features.
An ArcInfo binary grid can contain multiple raster layers, forming a layer stack. This can be used to overlay different views on surfaces and perform statistical analysis on the spatial data.
ADF files can store metadata about the raster set or actual raster data. When you create a binary grid, the files named dblbnd.adf, hdr.adf, sta.adf, vat.adf, and w001001x.adf provide metadata about the raster grid, while the file w001001.adf contains the actual raster data. These files are typically separated out into their own folder so that they are easy to manage as an entire grid coverage set.

File Type 3 Amiga Disk File
An ADF file is a disk image created on an Amiga system. It stores an exact copy of an Amiga-formatted disk in fixed-width AmigaDOS data tracks. ADF files can be mounted as a physical disk using an Amiga emulation program.
ADF files can be created on a Windows PC using ADF Opus ane opened using several other programs, such as WinUAE, WinFellow, and Cloanto Amiga Forever.
You can install the unADF tool on a Linux Debian operating system (OS) by typing the following command in terminal:

File Type 4 ARIS Express Document
An ADF file is a document created by Software AG ARIS Express, a free program used to model business process analysis and management. It contains a diagram, which consists of symbols used to model and organize a business-related process.
ADF files may be used to store a variety of model types, such as organizational charts, data models, whiteboards, system landscapes, process landscapes, business processes, and IT infrastructures. You can choose from a variety of symbols to best organize the diagram. Some of the symbols that can be added are events, tasks, subprocesses, data objects, messages, text annotations, connections, and gateways.
The ADF file is saved in a proprietary format and is the primary file type used to export diagrams in ARIS Express. However, the program can also export diagrams to other formats, including .JPEG, .PNG, .PDF, and .EMF. To export an ADF file to one of these formats, select
