What is an .AXE file?
.AXE is AutoRoute Map File
Locations file created by Microsoft AutoRoute, a map navigation and trip planning program for Eastern and Western Europe; contains "pushpins," which are Points of Interest (POI) on the map; can also contain navigation data.
AXE files are used for saving map locations and creating navigation routes in Europe. The files can be converted to many different POI data formats using POIConverter.
NOTE:AutoRoute has been discontinued.

File used by Codalogic LMX, a program used for C++ source code generation; contains definitions for the structure of XML data; used for automatically generating C++ classes that "ummarshal" and "marshal" XML files.
Codalogic LMX can also generate C++ XML parsing classes using plain .XSD files.
