.XVA is XenServer Virtual Appliance File

File used by XenCenter, an administration tool for XenServer virtualization software; saves all data for a "virtual appliance," which is a virtual machine that includes a pre-installed operating system and applications; used for importing, exporting, and instantiating virtual appliances.

XVA files include both the virtual appliance configuration information and the disk images used for the virtual machine. Citrix uses the Open Virtual Machine Format (OVF) for virtual machines.

NOTE: You can import a virtual appliance in XenCenter by choosing File → Import, clicking Browse..., and then choosing your XVA file. You can export a virtual appliance by choosing Tools → Virtual Appliance Tools → Export Appliance....
