File created by TreeGraph 2, a program used to build and annotate phylogenetic trees; stores a phylogenetic tree in the XML-based Extensible TreeGraph (XTG) format; includes annotations and formatting information.

XTG files are used for storing structured bioinformatics data. The phylogenetic trees, also called evolutionary trees, are commonly used to study the genetic relationships between biological species.

NOTE: TreeGraph was published in the BMC Bioinformatics journal. The software was developed in Java and requires version 1.6.0 of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
