Settings file created by IBM SPSS, a statistical software package used for data mining and predictive analysis; saves the options specified in the Text Import Wizard; can be used for importing data from multiple text files that use the same formatting.
The Text Import Wizard can be accessed by selecting from the application menu. In this dialog, you can specify text delimiters, variable names, and other options. The final step of the dialog asks, "Would you like to save this file format for future use?" From here, you can save a TPF file that stores your import selections.
