Audio file compressed using Speex compression and saved in the Ogg Vorbis container format; designed as an audio compression format specifically for speech; compresses voice at 2 to 44 kbps and supports 8 kHz, 16 kHz, and 32 kHz compression in the same bitstream.

The Speex format also supports intensity stereo encoding, noise suppression, echo cancellation, variable bitrate (VBR) encoding, Voice Activity Detection (VAD), and Discontinuous Transmission (DTX).

System Profiler XML Report

System Information report created by the System Information application, which is included with OS X; contains information that describes the configuration of your Mac's hardware and software.

You can choose what information is contained in the SPX report when you save the file. Different kinds of information includes how much RAM is installed, networking features, number of USB ports, and connected Thunderbolt devices.

NOTE: The SPX file can be created by the System Information application or the system_profiler command in Terminal. Depending on the version of OS X, System Information may be called System Profiler.
