What is an .SDOC file?
.SDOC is Sealed Word Document
"Sealed" Word document (.DOC file) created by Oracle's IRM document protection software; locks the document so that it can only be viewed by a user with sufficient rights; used for securing the distribution of business documents and email attachments.
SDOC files can be viewed using Oracle IRM Desktop, a program that "unseals" the documents for viewing. However, the documents can only be viewed if the user has the necessary rights. IRM software also sometimes integrates into corporate Word installations and provides an option to "seal" a document after editing it.
NOTE: Oracle IRM software also creates several other sealed file types, such as sealed .PDF files (.SPDF extension).
File Type 2 Samsung Memo
An SDOC file contains a note created by Samsung Notes, a note-taking app commonly used by select Samsung mobile devices, such as S Note and Galaxy S7. It may store text, handwritten notes, images, sketches, and audio.
SDOC files are typically opened by Samsung Notes. However, since the file is compressed with Zip compression, you can rename the ".sdoc" extension to ".zip" and extract the contents of the file. You can then manually open the files that make up the note.
File Type 3 Satra Khmer Document
Document created by Satra Khmer, a program used for protecting document text; contains text that has been transposed from regular text to Satra text using the proprietary Transposition System; used for storing sensitive information.
NOTE: The Satra Khmer user interface is displayed in the Khmer language, which is also known as Cambodian. The application is no longer available for download.
