It contains a 3D material, such as concrete, carpet, glass, marble, steel, slate, iron, metal, wood, and glass. SBSAR files are used to share materials that have been made by Substance users or are available for download with a Substance Source subscription.
An SBSAR file is the published version of an .SBS file. It is optimized to only store the information required to render the substance it stores and cannot be edited. To publish a substance in Substance Designer, which creates an SBSAR file, follow these steps:
SBSAR files can be opened by a variety of programs, including Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Unity, Unreal Engine 4, Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, CATIA, and TouchDesigner.
You can open an SBSAR file in Substance Designer by selecting . You can add SBSAR files into Substance Painter by selecting , dragging and dropping the files into the "Shelf" pane in Substance Painter, or by placing them in the "materials" folder in the following directory:
