The S3G format is designed to deliver instructions to a 3D printer on how to print a 3D object based on a .STL or .OBJ 3D model file. The S3G file is primarily created by MakerBot Desktop and used by the MakerBot Replicator printer and can be sent to the printer via an SD card or connected USB cable.

NOTE: The S3G format was replaced by the .X3G format with the release of MakerBot Replicator 2.
