.QBM is QuickBooks Portable Company File

File created by QuickBooks, a program that allows businesses to track their finances; contains a compacted version of company financial data only; used to temporarily move company financial data through email or using a small capacity external storage device.

If you would like to restore a QBM portable company file, you can select File → Open or Restore Company from the application menu and then choose "Restore a portable file" from the dialog. You will be led through several more screens to complete the restoration process.

NOTE: QBM files should not be used as full backups since they only backup company financial data. To make a full backup, create a .QBB file in QuickBooks.
