What is an .PDM file?
.PDM is PowerDesigner Database File
Database created with Sybase PowerDesigner, an enterprise modeling and design program; stores database information as well as references to other files, such as the database definition (.XDB) file and model definition (.XEM) files.
PDM files can also be opened with Quest Software's QDesigner, which was discontinued in 2006.
NOTE: PowerDesigner was originally developed by Sybase, which was purchased by SAP.
File Type 2 VB Project Information File
Text file containing one or more scripts along with information about the packaging and deployment of a Visual Basic (VB) application; includes all necessary files, installation locations, and the name of the script(s).
When additional deployment packages are created for a project. New package/deployment scripts are written to the beginning of the project's PDM file.
File Type 3 ProntoDoc for Word Mobile Display Document Template
File used by ProntoDoc for Word (PDW), a Microsoft Word plug-in used for auto-filling and generating document templates; stores the template's page structure as well as empty fields that are filled by data from one or more source databases (SQL Server, SharePoint, and Oracle are supported); used for generating content conforming to the HTML5 standard, which can be viewed on mobile devices.
ProntoDoc for Word is used in business environments for generating reports and other business documents.
