A PDA file is a data generated by SoftMax Pro, a microplate reader control and microplate data analysis program. It contains data recorded from a microplate that can be processed, analyzed, and visually displayed in SoftMax software.

Microplates, also known as microtiter plates, are thin rectangular plates with a grid of "wells" that serve as small test tubes. They are commonly used in clinical diagnostic testing laboratories. Plate readers can detect and record biological and chemical events that occur in the wells.

NOTE: The ".pda" extension is used by SoftMax Pro Software v. 5 and earlier. PDA files may also be created by StakMax hardware devices.
