.PAD is ACT! Database Pointer File
Shortcut file used by the ACT! customer relationship management (CRM) software; contains a pointer to the actual ACT! database files, which are stored in .ADF and .ALF files; often used as a desktop shortcut for opening the database.
PAD files are pointers to an ACT! database, not the database itself. Therefore, they do not contain customer relationship data.
NOTE: Sage ACT! became Swiftpage Act! in 2013.
