File extension nsg is mainly used for Lotus Notes database files.

A .nsg files were used under Lotus Notes version 2 and 3, because original nsf file extension had a certain space limitation, so Lotus came out with a new database format (NSG) that allowed for larger size database files. In subsequent versions, the NSF file size limitation was changed and NSG database format were no longer needed.
