.MCML File Extension

The mcml file extension is associated with the Microsoft Windows Media Center application.

Media Center is digital video recorder, media player that is also able to manage digital TV tuners installed in a computer. Media Center is distributed with some editions of Microsoft Windows operating system.

The mcml file contains source code in Media Center Markup Language (MCML).

MCML is an XML-based programming language that supports advanced concepts such as parametrization, private local storage, rich conditional-based data binding, composition-based animated visual content, and access to managed code assemblies from markup.

Media Center Markup Language is used by applications for Windows Media Center Presentation Layer.

.MCML file format is deprecated and this file format is no longer supported.

Currently, .MCML file type is not actively used and is obsolete. This usually happens with system files in older operating systems, files from long-discontinued software, or with previous versions of some file types (documents, projects, images, etc.) that were replaced in later versions of the original programs.

Use Windows Notepad, Notepad++ to view content of Media Center *.mcml files.

How to convert:

As far as we know, this .mcml file type can't be converted to any other file format. This is usually the case of system, configuration, temporary, or data files containing data exclusive to only one software and used for its own purposes. Also some proprietary or closed file formats cannot be converted to more common file types in order to protect the intellectual property of the developer, which is for example the case of some DRM-protected multimedia files.
