.IAF is Outlook Internet Account File

Settings file created by Microsoft Outlook, an email and calendar program; stores Internet Mail Account settings in a proprietary format; used for exporting email settings to another Outlook installation.

IAF files can no longer be exported by current versions of Outlook. However, Outlook 2002 Standard Edition, Outlook 2003, and Outlook 2007 can import them through the following menu option: File → Import and Export → Import Internet Mail Account Settings.

How to Open .IAF file on different platforms

Open .IAF File on Windows

  • Right-click a .IAF
  • Left-click "Open With" > "Choose another app"
  • Select the program that opens .IAF file and Select check box "Always use this app to open .IAF files" Press "Ok"

  • Right-click (or Ctrl + Left-click) the .IAF file
  • Click "Open With" > "Other.."
  • Then choose another program from the app list and press "Open"
