What is an .HBS file?

.HBS is Handlebars Template

Template created by Handlebars, a web template system; contains a template written in HTML code and embedded with handlebars expressions; same as the .HANDLEBARS file.

A Handlebars expression is the basic unit of the template and appears like this: {{contents}}.

To deliver a HBS file to the browser, include it in the script tag:

Set list created by Line 6 POD HD Edit, a DAW application that enables you to edit instrument sounds; contains up to 64 presets that change the settings for "FX," "AMPS," "Mixer," and "Controllers," which customize the sound of your instrument; once loaded, will replace the currently loaded Set list within the application.

To create the HBS file, customize your settings, select File → Save Setlist As..., name the file, choose the save location, and click Save.

To open the H5S file, double-click the file or select File → Open Setlist..., navigate to the file, and click Open.

In Windows, the default save location for H5B files is in the following directory:
\My Documents\Line 6\Tones\POD HD Edit\Setlists

In Mac, the default save location for H5S files is in the following directory:
/Documents/Line 6/Tones/POD HD Edit/Setlists

NOTE: The HBS extension was replaced by .H5S when POD HD500 Edit was released.

How to solve problems with HBS files

  • Associate the HBS file extension with the correct application. On :
    Windows: Right click on any HBS file and then click "Open with" > "Choose another app". Now select another program and check the box "Always use this app to open *.HBS files". Mac: Right click (or Ctrl-click) the HBS file, then click "Open with" > "Other...". Then choose another program and check the "Always Open With" box. Linux: Right click on the file, and select "Open with" and choose another program. iPhone: Tap the file. If you do not see an app to open the file, then tap Share "Share" and choose an app. Alternatively, save the file. Then open the Files app Files app. There long-press on the file, then release your finger. You will see a black menu bar. Then tap "Share" and select an app. Android: Tap the Settings icon on your smartphone, then tap on the Apps section. There tap the Options icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen to change the default apps.
  • Update your software that should actually open .HBS is Handlebars Template. Because only the current version supports the latest HBS file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the N/A manufacturer website after an available .HBS is Handlebars Template update.
  • To make sure that your HBS file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with antivirus software.
