What is an .GOD file?
.GOD is Gore Game Data File
Game data file used by Gore games, such as Special Edition and Ultimate Soldier; contains data in plain text that is referenced by the game to describe gameplay, such as explosions, ricochet effects, body armor, items, missions, and other level information.
NOTE: GOD files are located in the same directory that the Gore game is installed. They can be opened and edited by a text editor.
File Type 2 God Configuration File
File used by God, a server monitoring framework written in Ruby and used for making sure that tasks and processes run well on the server; specifies which processes to monitor, when to start them, and restart conditions.
GOD files are typically written and used by administrators of Linux systems.
File Type 3 Populous II Player Progress File
Game file created by Populous II: Trials of the Olympian Gods, an older strategy game for MS-DOS, Amiga, and some other older systems; saves the player's progress in the game, which can be loaded back through the game's interface.
Populous II can still be run using PC emulation software such as DOSBox.
NOTE: The player progress code is stored in plain text in the GOD file.
