.DMX is Source Filmmaker Project File
Project file created by Source Filmmaker (SFM), a program used for making 3D movies and still images for use with Valve's Source game engine; saves a 3D recording created by the user and can be comprised of game map objects, models, animations, sounds, effects, and other 3D model data; often contains a recording of actual gameplay.
SFM projects are used for making short movies and cutscenes. SFM can export, or render, projects to .TGA still images or to .AVI videos.
NOTE: Source Filmmaker can only be installed using Valve's Steam client.
