.D01 is OPL2 FM Audio File
A D01 file is an audio file generated by the OPL2 FM synthesizer. It contains music from an OPL2 FM synthesizer that can be played by an emulator.
OPL2 FM synthesizers were used to play music for video games in the 1980s and 1990s. Yamaha produced several FM chip types along with the OPL2 (YM3812) chip, such as OPL (YM3526), OPL3 (YMF262), and OPL4 (YMF278B) chips. Winamp with the Ganbatte! plug-in installed allows users to emulate OPL2 audio chips in Windows.
VirtualDrive Disc Image Part 2 File
Disc image part created by VirtualDrive, a disc burning and imaging program; saves the second part of a disc image where other parts use the extensions ".d00," ".d02," etc.; created when the size limit for the total disc image has been exceeded so that the volume is broken up into multiple files.
NOTE: VirtualDrive uses the .VCD extension for full disc images. When disc images are broken up into multiple parts, the files may use the compound extensions ".vcd.d00," ".vcd.d01," etc.
