A CPTX file is a project file created by Adobe Captivate, a screen capture application used to create multimedia eLearning products. It contains one or more slides that may include screen recordings, audio, or other interactive content. CPTX files are used for authoring learning management system (LMS) products such as software demonstrations, simulations, and quizzes.
CPTX files can be exported to a .SWF file, which can be played back in the Adobe Flash Player or other SWF-compatible player. They may also be exported to a standalone Windows executable (.EXE file).
NOTE: The CPTX extension was introduced with Captivate 5. Previous versions used the .CP extension. Adobe Captivate is part of the Adobe Technical Communication Suite.
