What are .CLIP files and how to open them?

Can't open .CLIP file? Are you wondering what it contains? On our site we will explain to you what this file is, what it is used for and what software opens the .CLIP file.

What is a .CLIP file extension?

.CLIP file extension is created by CELSYS. .CLIP has been classified as Raster Image Files.

.CLIP is Clip Studio Format File

A CLIP file is an image file created by Clip Studio Paint, a 2D drawing application. It contains an image composition which consists of one or more raster or vector layers and may include shapes, text, filters, images, and pen, pencil, or brush strokes. CLIP files replaced .LIP files with the release of Clip Studio Paint 1.5.4.

Clip Studio Paint is used to create manga (Japanese-style comic books and graphic novels), comic illustrations, and animations. The CLIP file is the primary file used by the program and is used similar to the Photoshop .PSD file to save your illustrations and animations in a format that can be edited later.

The CLIP file (Clip Studio format) replaced the LIP file (Clip Studio Paint format) as the primary file used by Clip Studio Paint in March 2016. One of the largest differences between the two formats is the decreased size and load time of the newer CLIP file format. Although Clip Studio Paint uses a newer format, you can still save your images as LIP files in Clip Studio Paint version 1.5.4 or later. However, if you edit a LIP file in version 1.5.4 or later the file will no longer be able to be opened in versions 1.4.4 and earlier.

File Type 2 Grand Theft Auto 5 Clip
Developer by: Rockstar Games Category: Game Files

Replay clip created by Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA V), a drive-and-shoot sandbox game; stores controller input data that is referenced by the Rockstar editor to replay a sequence from gameplay.

The controller input data in the CLIP file is timed so when it is used during the replay it appears as if it was an actual video recording of the gameplay. However, you can export the replay to the .MP4 video format in the editor and it will be located in the AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA V\videos\rendered directory.

NOTE: CLIP files are named according to the time that they were created and are stored in the Rockstar Games\GTA V\Clips directory.
