A C3D file is a 3D model saved in the C3D Labs binary format, which is a CAD format used in architectural and machine building industries. It contains geometric object data for a 3D model, such as curves, points, triangulation, assemblies, and bodies. C3D files are the primary files used to exchange 3D models using C3D Labs software.

If you receive a C3D file, you can open it with C3D Viewer, which is available to download for free. The program enables you to zoom in and out, pan, rotate, and orbit the model. You can save different views of the model in the JPEG, PNG, BMP, and TIFF formats, which allows you to share your model in a more widely supported format. The program also can be used to view other formats, such as .STEP, .IGES, and .STL.
