.BTV File Extension

The btv file extension is associated with AppleTalk, a proprietary suite of protocols developed by Apple Inc. for networking computers.

As of Mac 10.6 Snow Leopard the suite is no longer supported in favor of TCP/IP networking.

AppleTalk was also available for IBM-PC and Apple IIGS computers.

The btv files contain desktop database.

.BTV file format is deprecated and this file format is no longer supported.

Also some proprietary or closed file formats cannot be converted to more common file types in order to protect the intellectual property of the developer, which is for example the case of some DRM-protected multimedia files.
