.BPLX is Bore Plan XML File

A BPLX file contains a bore plan created by Subsite Field Scout, an app for Android and iOS used for planning and reporting directional boring jobs. It store bore information, such as utility crossings and the distance and depth of entry points, waypoints, pay starts and ends, and exit points. BPLX files are saved in XML format.

Directional boring is also known as horizontal directional drilling (HDD). It is a method of installing cables, conduits, or underground pipe along an underground bore path. The Field Scout app allows you to plan and report on bore paths to improve drill efficiency. Since it is available for mobile devices, the app can be used to walk along paths with the aid of GPS then share the plan with others by uploading it to the Commander 7 HDD Guidance Display.

How to Open .BPLX file on different platforms

Open .BPLX File on Windows

Right-click a .BPLX

Left-click "Open With" > "Choose another app"

Select the program that opens .BPLX file and Select check box "Always use this app to open .BPLX files" Press "Ok"

Open .BPLX File on Mac

Right-click (or Ctrl + Left-click) the .BPLX file

Click "Open With" > "Other.."

Then choose another program from the app list and press "Open"

Select check box "Turn on" for "Always open in app"

Right click on the .BPLX file, choose "Open with" and select a program from the list above
