What is an .BKS file?
.BKS is NTBackup Settings File
File used by NTBackup, a Windows program used to create backups; stores a list of backup directories and file names in a plain text format; may specify directory or file inclusions and exclusions; may also specify to backup the system state.
BKS files are used to create automated backups of Windows files. They may store files, registry information, and other system status information. When executed, NTBackup creates .BKF backup files.
File Type 2 Microsoft Works Spreadsheet Backup File
Spreadsheet backup file (.WPS file) created by Microsoft Works; generated automatically as a backup in case the original spreadsheet file becomes corrupted and cannot be opened.
The file extension may need to be changed from ".bks" to ".wps" in order to open correctly.
