What is an .B6I file?

.B6I is BlindWrite 6 Disc Image

Disc image created with BlindWrite, a disc authoring program designed for backing up computer game discs; contains an exact copy of the data from the original disc and can be used to burn a copy to another disc.

B6I files may be saved along with a corresponding .B6T file. The B6I file contains the actual data to be copied and the B6T file contains information about the disc's file structure. The B6T file should me opened in order to mount the disc image.

NOTE: BlindWrite 5 saved disc images as .B5I files, while previous versions of BlindWrite used the .BWI file extension.

How to solve problems with B6I files

  • Associate the B6I file extension with the correct application. On :
    Windows: Right click on any B6I file and then click "Open with" > "Choose another app". Now select another program and check the box "Always use this app to open *.B6I files". Mac: Right click (or Ctrl-click) the B6I file, then click "Open with" > "Other...". Then choose another program and check the "Always Open With" box. Linux: Right click on the file, and select "Open with" and choose another program. iPhone: Tap the file. If you do not see an app to open the file, then tap Share "Share" and choose an app. Alternatively, save the file. Then open the Files app Files app. There long-press on the file, then release your finger. You will see a black menu bar. Then tap "Share" and select an app. Android: Tap the Settings icon on your smartphone, then tap on the Apps section. There tap the Options icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen to change the default apps.
  • Update your software that should actually open .B6I is BlindWrite 6 Disc Image. Because only the current version supports the latest B6I file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the VSO Software manufacturer website after an available .B6I is BlindWrite 6 Disc Image update.
  • To make sure that your B6I file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with antivirus software.
