The appt file extension was in the past used for a specially protected PowerPoint presentation encrypted using the Authentica Secure Office.

Seems like old product as the developer and its product portfolio was acquired by EMC Corporation. Probably known by another name now.

.APPT file format is deprecated and this file format is no longer supported.

Currently, .APPT file type is not actively used and is obsolete. How to Open .APPT file on different platforms

Open .APPT File on Windows

  • Left-click "Open With" > "Choose another app"
  • Select the program that opens .APPT file and Select check box "Always use this app to open .APPT files" Press "Ok"
