.ANIME is Anime Studio Document

An ANIME file is a document created with Anime Studio 11 and later, a drawing and animation program. It contains an .ANIMEPROJ data file and a project thumbnail .JPG file compressed using Zip compression. ANIME files were replaced by .MOHO files with the release of version 12.

You can open ANIME files in Anime Studio Pro and Debut. You can also open ANIME files with a Zip decompression program. To do this, rename the ".anime" extension with the ".zip" extension, then extract the contents with the decompression program. The following files are stored in the ANIME file:

  • Project_name.animeproj - Project data file saved in JSON format.
  • Preview.jpg - Optional thumbnail file created from the project canvas when the ANIME file was saved.

NOTE: Anime Studio was renamed as Moho with the release of version 12.
