Affinity Photo is used to create professional raster images and is an alternative to Adobe Photoshop, providing much of the same functionality. The AFPHOTO file is the main file type associated with Affinity Photo similarly to how the .PSD file is used by Photoshop.
AFPHOTO files are created when you first save your image composition by selecting
or and choose the AFPHOTO format. The file stores the image and all of its design elements. The AFPHOTO file can also be exported to various formats in Windows and macOS, which include .PNG, .JPG, .GIF, .SVG, .EPS, PSD, .TIFF, .EXR, .HDR, and .PDF.
NOTE: To open an AFPHOTO file in Affinity Photo, simply select and choose the AFPHOTO file you want to open.
